What is the GLA:D® Program?
GLA:D® (Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark) is an evidence-based education and exercise program developed to help people with hip or knee osteoarthritis manage their symptoms, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
It’s designed for people who:
- Are experiencing symptoms of hip or knee OA
- Are not currently eligible for joint replacement surgery
- Are on a waitlist for hip or knee replacement and need support in managing symptoms
- Prefer to explore non-operative, conservative management options
What’s Included in the Program?
The GLA:D® Program consists of:
Assessment
Individualized assessment prior to the program starting.
2 Education Sessions (1 hour each)
Learn about osteoarthritis, treatment options, and how exercise and lifestyle can reduce your symptoms.
12 Guided Exercise Sessions (1 hour each)
Sessions focus on flexibility, strength, and functional movement. All tailored to your needs.
Ongoing Support
Progress is monitored, and your physiotherapist will guide you each step of the way to ensure exercises are safe and effective.
